Blueberries are delicious, easy-to-grow fruits, but they require acidic soil conditions to thrive.
🌱 Soil: Acidic (ericaceous)
🪴 Best In: Pots or acidic soil

💧 Water: Use rainwater if possible
🌿 Feed: Ericaceous fertiliser
✂️ Prune: Light annual pruning
🌱 Soil & Planting
- Use ericaceous (acidic) compost
- Ideal pH: 4.5–5.5
- Best grown in containers if your soil is not acidic
- Plant in spring or autumn
☀️ Position
- Full sun or partial shade
- Sheltered from strong winds
💧 Watering
- Keep soil consistently moist
- Use rainwater where possible (tap water can reduce acidity)
🌿 Feeding
- Feed with an ericaceous fertiliser in spring and early summer
✂️ Pruning
- Minimal pruning needed
- Remove dead or weak branches in late winter
🍇 Harvesting
- Fruits from mid to late summer
- Pick when fully blue and slightly soft
